Social Media Marketing
Social Media gives you a huge opportunity to connect with your community, build a brand, and find leads, yet most people don’t know how to use effectively.
It can be very overwhelming for sure so I’ll give you a rundown on all the different platforms. But if you still need some help with your specific business please shoot me an email at contact@joelmarkharris.com.
Facebook has over 1.3 Billion users, making it the largest social network yet its algorithms make it increasingly difficult to reach your community unless you pay for traffic. Unless you have a decent marketing budget, your posts will only be seen by the same couple of dozen people.
Twitter has over 500 million users which is significantly lower than Facebook yet you have the advantage of reaching out to almost anybody on twitter and they’ll get a notification. Many companies use Twitter to help their customer’s user experience. Twitter is especially helpful if you provide content on your website. You can direct a large amount of people to your new blog or podcast.
LinkedIn has over 357 million users but it’s really the secret weapon of social media marketing. It is extremely easy to identify the influencers in your space and reach out to them. It is the best to prospect your clients and increase leads.
Google + has over 300 million users and is a useful platform if your customers are there. The really amazing thing about Google + is that when you post on this platform your content is searchable in Google, the most powerful search engine in the world.
Pinterest has over 70 million users but its growing in leaps and bounds. It’s not a platform for everybody but those who use Pinterest are passionate and hyper engaged. You’ll need a product that you can visualize effectively.
Youtube has over a billion users each year and over 4 billion videos are viewed per day. With that many users why did I put Youtube last? Because we often forget about it and don’t’ think of it as a social media platform but it can be extremely effective way to communicate your message to your audience.
There are of course other smaller platforms like Slideshare and Trello but I’ve covered the main ones and the ones you want to focus your efforts on. Good luck and remember if you need more specific help please email me at contact@joelmarkharris.com.
